How to Right Click on Chromebook

How do I right click on a Chromebook? A question that appeared in our inbox a while back. We found the query a bit strange, and that is because we never used a Chromebook. However, once we got our hands on one, we realized that this is a valid question. Are you going mad thinking your Chromebook right button isn’t working? Just how do you right click on a Chromebook? These tips will help you out. There are also two videos in the article to help you out as well.

Tap with Two Fingers

Click the touchpad with two fingers to open the right-click menu. That is to say tap or click the mouse pad with two fingers instead of one, and it registers as a right-click. Like bullet points? Check out the walkthrough below!

  • Click the touchpad with two fingers to open the right-click menu.
  • Place two fingers on the touchpad and move up and down or right to left to scroll.
  • Click and hold on an item you want to drag and drop using one finger. Then, with a second finger move to where you want that item dropped.
  • Swipe left or right quickly using two fingers to swipe between open tabs.

Use Alt

Alternatively, you can hold down the “ALT” button on the keyboard while tapping or clicking once on the mouse pad. This method also brings up the right click menu on your Chromebook.

Use a Mouse

Finally, you can connect a USB Mouse to your Chromebook and use it like you would on any other PC.  Check out the video for a visual walkthrough.
