Siri For Android | Top Siri Alternatives For Android Phones

Siri made its debut on iOS quite a while back, and, ever since then, users have been trying to get similar apps on non-iOS devices. Virtual assistants like Siri are very useful. Some can even find out what song is playing and add events to calendars. Luckily, developers were listening. And, today, there are several Siri alternatives for Android phones. Hence, if you want Siri for Android, these apps are the closest that you get to that goal.

Google Assistant

The top runner for alternative Siri app for Android, Google Assistant, is a virtual assistant for Pixel smartphones. Although highly subjective, Google Assistant is perhaps the best on the market. Depending on who you ask, you’ll hear that it is better than Siri. Anything Siri can do, Google Assistant can do better. After all, it holds the power of Google Search and everything Google. Hence, it is extremely knowledgeable. Set reminders, call or text people, schedule appointments, play music and much more. The only pitfall is that it is only available for Pixel smartphones.

Google Now

Our second Siri-like app is Google Now. Unlike Google Assistant, Google Now can be found on all platforms and smartphones. While not as integrated as Google Assistant, Google Now provides the same functionality in terms of voice searches and commands. You can say “Ok Google. Increase screen brightness” and Google Now increases your phone brightness. Google Now is the top alternative for Siri on Android. See how it stacks up versus Siri in the video below.

Cortana

Microsoft’s virtual assistant, Cortana, debuted on Windows 10 devices. And, since then, there has been a Cortana app for Android devices. Cortana’s voice recognition capabilities are on par with rival virtual assistants. However, some queries prove problematic for the AI. For example, results where other virtual assistants read out the information, like the time, come up as a Bing search result. But, it does set reminders, make calls, and send texts for you. Unfortunately, Cortana cannot adjust settings on your Android device like Google Now or Google Assistant. Cortana proves to be a good alternative Siri app for Android.

Bixby

While there’s no Siri for Samsung, if you own the Samsung Galaxy S8, then Bixby is the default virtual assistant. Bixby makes your phone helpful – assisting in completing tasks, telling you what you’re looking at, learning your routine and remembering what you need to do. Just push the Bixby button to get started. Bixby knows your phone’s apps and how to use them. Additionally, you can talk, tap or type, and Bixby understands. It also integrates with your smartphone’s camera.

AIVC (Alice)

AIVC (Alice) is a barebones virtual assistant.  You can use it to open apps, play music, solve math problems and check fun facts. And, like most other virtual assistants, you can send text messages, make calls, schedule appointments and more.

Indigo Virtual Assistant

Indigo Virtual Assistant is another Siri-like app for Android devices. It can send messages, make phone calls and all the other regular stuff. It can also translate words for you like other assistants on the list.
