How To Turn On Dynamic Lock In Windows 10

To enhance security, Windows 10 has a feature, Dynamic Lock. Dynamic Lock lets you sync a Bluetooth device (smartphone) with your computer. When your Bluetooth device is out of range, your computer automatically locks.

Pair Device Via Bluetooth

The first thing you need to do is pair both your Windows 10 computer and Bluetooth device. Be sure that you enable Bluetooth on both your smartphone or fitness watch and Windows 10.

  • Open Settings.
  • Go to Device.
  • Click Bluetooth & Other Devices.
  • Then, click Add Bluetooth or other device.

How To Turn On Dynamic Lock

Once you pair your devices, you must now turn on Dynamic Lock. Here’s what to do:

  • Open Settings.
  • Go to Accounts.
  • Choose Sign in Options (in the left column).
  • Scroll down till your see Dynamic Lock.
  • Lastly, check the box or toggle next to ‘Allow Windows to detect when you’re away and automatically lock the device’ to enable Dynamic Lock.

That’s it! Windows 10 automatically detects your paired phone. You do not need to do anything else. Now, when your phone away from your PC, it locks after 30 seconds.
