There are two types: screenshot of the entire screen and screenshot of a selected area. When you take a screenshot, Chrome OS saves it as a .png image in Files.

On Chromebook keyboards press Ctrl + 6th Key (switch windows). And, on non-Chrome OS keyboards, press Ctrl + F5.
How To Screenshot Selected Area
Firstly, for Chromebook keyboards, press Ctrl + Shift + 6th Key (switch windows). Then, with the pointer, click, drag and release to capture your selection.
For non-Chromebook keyboards, press Ctrl + Shift + F5. Then, with the pointer, click, drag and release to capture your selection.
