Vayne

Tumbling to the side immediately after Lucian casts Piercing Light will almost always allow you to avoid taking the damage.

Draven

Tips For Playing Against Lucian

• Lucian’s ult can be used while he’s moving, so watch out as he may try to kite you and burst you down with it.
• Lucian’s damaging skills have long range and are mostly skill shots, so awareness and good dodging skills are important.
• Watch out for Lucian’s Q in lane as it can pass through minions for a longer range, try to stay to the side of the minions.
• Attempt to stay on the same side of the creep wave as Lucian, e.g if he stands to the left, stand to the left. This will give him a much harder time with harassing you using Piercing Light.
• While he has great mobility, Lucian, however, has one of the lowest attack ranges as a marksman, at 500 units.
• Early game, Lightslinger grants Lucian a lot of trading potential. Try to avoid getting hit when he has the effect ready.
• Dodging Piercing Light during the 0.35-second delay, with fast reactions or an ability like Tumble, is a good way to lower Lucian‘s damage output.
  • Also, try to not stand in a line with allied minions and Lucian, as it denies him every chance to line up a shot.
• Be careful when you are hit by Ardent Blaze. While affected by the ability’s mark, Lucian can easily engage with its bonus movement speed.
• Although The Culling‘s damage may seem to be terrifying, moving sideways can help dodging at least a few shots, because the angle of fire cannot be altered once chosen.
  • Alternatively, using any form of hard CC, such as a stun will cancel it.
    • However, a silence will not cancel it.
  • The extra damage on minions makes running behind them not a good strategy, although it will block a few hits.
