The Samsung Galaxy J2 is a 136 x 69 x 8.3 mm smartphone with a 4.7 inch screen and a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels. It is the successor of the Samsung Galaxy J1. This article offers an overview of the features, design and capabilities of the device as well as a brief Samsung Galaxy J2 review.
The Samsung Galaxy J2 comes with a TFT display that houses a 4.7 inch screen with a resolution of 960×540 pixels. The pixel density is 234 ppi, and this means that, in principle, users should have a pixel free images, however there will be limited image quality when viewing videos. In short, the screen is suitable for normal everyday use but not for high definition videos and games.
On the design side, the Samsung Galaxy J2 remains largely the same as that of the Samsung Galaxy J1. This means that it has a plastic housing accompanied by chrome side frames, with total size of 136 x 69 x 8.3 mm.
If we examine the design of the front of the Galaxy J2, the highlight is the Home button -accompanied by the two touch buttons (corresponding to the options menu and Back button – which come housed below the display, while the rear houses the main camera which is capable of LED flash (on the left) and a speaker (on the right).
The Samsung Galaxy J2 is not one of those Samsung phones that seek to highlight the camera (See: Samsung Galaxy A8, Samsung galaxy S6), and it is more than understandable that the J2 incorporates a five megapixels rear camera (accompanied by LED flash, of course).
This camera offers the auto-focus feature (i.e, the camera itself is responsible for automatically focusing the image without the user clicking r tapping the screen), and the maximum resolution that we can expect in photographs is 2592 х 1944 pixels (you can also record video). Additional features provided by this camera are the geo-tagging , the pinch to zoom and face detection .
As far as concerns the front camera, it is two megapixels. Suitable enough for making personal video calls and taking the occasional selfie.

Here is short Samsung Galaxy J2 Camera review to help you understand the features and quality of the camera.
The processor that powers the performance of the Samsung Galaxy J2 is four cores, and is a processor developed by the Korean company itself, since we are speaking of an Exynos 3475. This processor consists of Cortex-A7 cores, and the maximum clock speed it is able to reach is set at 1.3 GHz. At the same time, this processor supports a Mali-T720 graphic processor.
The RAM,which is responsible for maintaining active tasks in the background, is 1 gigabyte. While the internal storage of the Samsung Galaxy J2 is set to 8 gigabytes, which results in a rather limited space to store multimedia files (especially if we consider that almost half of this space is occupied by factory apps and the OS), the good news is that this phone lets you insert a microSD card of up to 128 gigabytes! Using this external expansion, it is difficult to run out of space considering the user base that the Galaxy J2 is aimed at.
Operating System & Apps
The Samsung Galaxy J2 uses Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, which right now is one of the latest versions of Android. This means that users who purchase this phone will see standard Google applications (Gmail, Chrome, Google Maps, etc.), as well as certain Samsung applications, and of course, the TouchWiz interface.
With respect to the battery, the limited size of Samsung Galaxy J2 did not prevent Samsung from installing a battery with 2,000 mAh capacity. Not much information on the battery is available at the time of writing. However, you can read our how to Fix: Samsung Galaxy J2 battery drain/overheating tutorial if you’re having trouble with the battery.
