OnePlus 2 Oxygen OS 2.2.0 OTA Update

OnePlus 2 Oxygen OS 2.2.0 Download/Install: The OnePlus 2 Oxygen OS 2.2.0 OTA update trickled onto to OnePlus 2 devices over the holiday season but, if you haven’t received the latest Oxygen OS 2.2.0 OTA update, you can get it here now. This is a new update for OnePlus 2 smartphones and requires 2.1.2 as the base version. We talked about 2.1.2 Oxygen OS update a while back and the Update OnePlus 2 to Oxygen OS 2.0.1 article came out along side the how to Replace Hydrogen OS with Oxygen OS on Oneplus 2 tutorial.

Installation Instructions

To install, download the file below and transfer it to your OnePlus 2. Next, reboot into recovery mode and use the install menu and then select the OTA file. If this doesn’t work for you, for whatever reason, then you first install the full ROM, v2.1.2 (given below), and right after installing that, install the v2.2 OTA file.

The steps outlined below are for those who use custom recoveries. If you have the stock OnePlus Two recovery then go ahead and use that to install the update.

TWRP recovery

  1. Download and transfer the Oxygen OS v2.2.0 OTA  file to your device’s internal storage.
  2. Boot your device into TWRP recovery.
  3. Select “Wipe” from TWRP main menu and do a “Swipe to Factory Reset” on the bottom of screen.
  4. Go back to TWRP main menu, tap on “Install” and select the Oxygen OS file that you transferred to your device in Step 1.
  5. After selecting the .zip file, do “Swipe to Confirm Flash” on the bottom of screen to begin the custom ROM installation process. This may take some time.
  6. Once your ROM is successfully flashed, you’ll see “Wipe cache/dalvik” option, select it and then do “Swipe to wipe” on bottom of screen.
  7.  Reboot your device.

Cyanogen recovery

  1. Download and transfer the Oxygen OS v2.2.0 OTA file to your device’s internal storage.
  2. Boot your device into Cyanogen recovery.
  3. Select “Wipe data/ factory reset”, then select “Yes” to confirm.
  4. Now select “Apply update” from main menu and select “Choose from internal storage”.
  5. Select the Oxygen OS v2.2.0 OTA ROM file that you transferred to your device in Step 1 above.
└ It may begin to install without confirmation.
  6.  Reboot your device.

That’s all there is to it. If everything went well, your device will now boot and you will be welcomed byOxygen OS v2.2.0. Thanks for reading how to install Oxygen OS v2.2.0 on the OnePlus 2 and I hope that this tutorial has helped you.
