The Asus ZenWatch 2 was shown for the first time to the press during the Computex event in Taipei and the new smartwatch will be officially presented during the IFA event which is to be held in Berlin in a few weeks. The new ASUS device has recently arrived in the offices of the US FCC, and some of its technical characteristics were inevitably leaked online.

This is the second Android Wear smartwatch and it comes in two sizes: one with a 22mm strap and another with a strap of 18 mm. The design is generally similar to the pilot Asus ZenWatch, although there is now a physical button on the right side of the stainless steel case.
Hardware wise, there is an AMOLED display that is protected by Gorilla Glass 3 2.5D, a magnetic charge, Snapdragon 400 CPU and IP67 certification for water and dust resistance. The device will be available in various colors (see images below). The straps will also have different colors and designs including one that features Swarovski.

The ZenWatch 2 will be sold in two versions, one with a 1.45-inch display and the other with a display of 1.63 inches. The processor will more than likely be the Snapdragon 400 for both models. The smaller version will consist of a 285 mAh battery while the one with larger screen will have a larger capacity, 389 mAh. Connectivity features include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.0. The smartwatch will be equipped with the Android Wear operating system.

The expected release date for the new ZenWatch 2 has not been revealed but this will more than likely be known at the 2015 IFA in Berlin. Until then we'll keep you posted.
