Acer Liquid Z630

The Acer Liquid Z630 is a smartphone that has a 5.5 inches FullHD resolution screen, a 4000 mAh battery and runs on a quad-core MediaTek MT673 processor. This article provides an overview of the features and specifications of the device as well as an Acer Z630 review.

Display

One of the great attractions of the Liquid Z630 is its screen, at least for those who like devices with a large screens. It has a screen of 5.5 inches and FullHD resolution, yielding a pixel density of 267 dots per inch. True, it is far from screens like the iPhone 6 Plus or the Sony Z5 Premium, but we think its serves its purpose which is to view multimedia content and it perfectly fulfills this task in any situation.

Design

Acer has worked quite well with the design. Its housing is not metallic nor is it made of aluminum, instead the material that covers the screen and body is based on a polycarbonate plastic. At first glance we can not say that it is a very high-end phone, but it is true that it looks elegant and sophisticated. For convenience, the phone is not too heavy (165 grams) or thick (8.9 mm), it meets medium standards.

Camera

Acer equipped the Liquid Z630 with an 8 megapixel rear camera that uses LED Flash. The LED Flash compensates for poor visibility conditions allowing you to capture bright images in dim light. The camera application supports features such as face and smile detection, geo-tagging etc. The Liquid Z630 also allows video recording in HD and features a secondary camera which is also 8 megapixels, which is not bad, its great for selfies and videoconferencing.  Though it does not support LED Flash on the front camera like the HTC Desire Eye or the Wiko Fever.

Power

Inside the Acer Liquid Z630 is a MediaTek MT673 processor. It is a quad-core chip operating at 1.3 GHz and is accompanied by 2GB of RAM. It may not perform tasks that require a powerful SoC, such as a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 or Exynos 7420, but it will be enough to support some of the most unique applications on Google Play.

Storage

With regard to storage capacity, the phone is toe to toe with the Acer Liquid Z530. It has a total internal storage of 16GB, enough to store a good bit of data, image, music etc. Of course, you can extend this storage space by using cloud storage services like Dropbox and Google Drive.

Like the Acer Liquid Z530 we should mention that the Liquid Z630 also has an “S” variant which will have more RAM (3GB) and storage (32GB). The processor on the “S” variants is an octa-core processor.

Connectivity

In the connectivity section, the Liquid Z630 has WiFi, to connect to the internet, as well as wireless high-speed networks (4G), Bluetooth 4.0 EDR, GPS with AGPS and a MicroUSB port, which will serve to charge your phone and transfer files from your phone to your computer or vice versa. There is also the mini-jack port which is useful for connecting headphones and speakers.

Battery

If there is one thing that stands out with this smartphone is the battery. The company decided to add a 4000 mAh battery, thanks to which you can use the device for several hours. They have not so far provided us with the exact time, in standby or in use, but we think a battery of these features will mean that you will be able to use the mobile phone for a while.

Surprisingly enough, the Lenovo Vibe P1 uses a 5000 mAh battery, so, perhaps the smartphones these days are moving towards longer lasting high performing batteries to compensate for their large screens.

Review

Acer did a good job with this Liquid Z630. We think it is a good choice for those who seek an Android phone with basic features and low price. Clearly one of the cheaper Acer smartphones but when it comes to cheapness and quality no company can beat Wiko Smartphones. But the Acer Liquid Z630 does come close.
